What I meant by ``migrating'' was primarily two things:

  1) start using EGCS ourselves, including for compiling packages
     uploaded to SimTel.NET;

  2) recommend users to download EGCS instead of GCC.

The second part should probably wait until we have enough experience
with the current version of EGCS to make sure it is stable enough for
John Doe the programmer.  But the first part should IMHO commence ASAP
if we think EGCS is the future.
