It *was* an NT thing; see my other mail about unlink-while-open.

In general, the NT filesystem is much very compatible with Unix-style
behavior, based on my testing.  Even the most intricate assumptions in
the latest "tail --follow" operation work on NT, no matter what do you
do to the file it tracks (rename it, delete it, recreate it, etc.).
