If you do that, it would make sense to go all the way and make it a 
general feature of DJGPP.  This way, all programs could benefit from 
it, and Bash will not need the PATH_EXPAND hackery at all.

So please post the patches to putpath.c, and I recommend to include
them in the library.

And while at that, make the function that updates the value of the
root be called `chroot', so that inetutils will be happy, too.
