I don't like this at all.  The new lib tree is just that, new.  It is
IMHO far superior to the old way.

Big pain in the butt to have multiple compilers present.

Not anymore they won't.  If I ever release the new pgcc snapshot
it will install alongside gcc 2.8 and won't require changes to anything.
