Yes. I changed to it. Haven't seen any problems yet. Installed 
automake-1.3 (required some hacking for this), built latest beta of 
GNUPLOT-3.6 (347) using configure scripts instead of supplied 
Makefile to change some parameters (also required hacking 
configure.in and automake were needed there). Some other tests 
also didn't show any problems yet. Perhaps more heavy test could 
be building gcc together with g77 but I'll don't have time for that in 
nearest 2 weeks.

Didn't see this yet (I'm using Win95 OSR2 now)
