Please send me the following from the system where the problem does 
happen:

	system.ini
	win.ini
	the file created by regedit when you choose the "EXPORT" option

I will try to compare these with the system I see this problem on, and 
with those where it doesn't happen.

If you know about any other configuration files that could help, please 
tell me.  

I already compared AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS of two such systems when
the Bash problem was reported on c.o.m.d, and didn't see anything special. 
In particular, at least one system which has this problem exhibits this
behavior even with empty AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS.  I also tried 
booting Windows into the SAFE configuration, but the problem persisted.

I'm seriously beginning to think about BIOS setup and related things.  
What is the type of BIOS and what is the company which made the system 
where you are seeing this problem?
