The idea was similary as in port of gcc-2.8.0 by Robert Hoehne to 
have original files from GNU distribution as backup files. Perhaps 
also list of modified and new files against original distribution 
of gcc-2.8.1, libstdc++-2.8.1.1 and libg++-2.8.1.1 should be enough.
I think such information is needed to make porting of future versions
more easy.
