Hmm - and it was unchanged from the standard distribution in the DJGPP
release?  This would suggest that someone modified the header 
sources and changed from signed to unsigned, perhaps not knowing it
could present problems for dos.  I suppose the bigger problem for
me (in terms of the last pg++ release) is if other header files
have changed as well.  Marc Lehmann mentioned that there was 
a big discussion about _G_config.h on the egcs developers list a while
back.  I searched the January archives today and didn't find anything, 
will try december tomorrow.
