I absolutely aggree with you because I know what you are speaking
about (porting binutils and gdb!!).

If the use of the configure scripts will work when using the
DJGPP bash it would be great because I think that we can
assume that the user, who wants to rebuild such a GNU package
from the source can also install bash.
