The DPMI version will only show 1.0 if ALL of the DPMI 1.0 functions are 
supported.  The only known DPMI which this is true is 386MAX.  But almost 
all DPMI providers support at least one DPMI 1.0 extension (such as the
FPU state modification).  There is no way to determine if a 1.0 function
is supported other than trying it, which doesn't usually cause problems.
