I'm sure your beta level will be considered better then release level by
some.  I know *I* have released some code that doesn't come close to your
beta level, and not because I disagree about the principle.  Experience
shows that some possible uses of DJGPP in some not-so-marginal
environments are rarely tested during beta; releasing the program to wider
audience might help to overcome this to some degree.
