Because you didn't follow the instructions. To properly link C++ code,
you must add the C++ libraries to the command line:
gcc -o myprog.exe myprog.cpp -lgpp
You can also use 'gxx' instead of 'gcc', which adds the libraries
automatically.
BTW...
