Cockpit error. Change this: lsocket.sin_addr.s_addr = INADDR_LOOPBACK; to lsocket.sin_addr.s_addr = htonl(INADDR_LOOPBACK); Pooh, I'm glad that this wasn't a Cygwin problem.
