That's another story, not covered by the current discussion. When
there is no /etc/passwd, internal_getlogin sees the emulated passwd,
with a home field. That field is initialized from HOME if present,
else it defaults to / .
One could argue that it should consider HOMEDRIVE/HOMEPATH as well
on NT/2000/XP, but that would change the behavior and why change it
if users are happy?
