Yes, the July-14 snapshot seems to be working much better. However, I may have one last twist on the problem. I'm loading a Cygwin enabled DLL into a non-Cygwin application (Excel) and stdout seems to have disappeared. I'll try to track this down ... Thanks, Eric Fifer
