The person you should talk to about the guiduck stuff is Bob Meader
<bob AT cci DOT net>.  He has done a lot of generic Alpha NT support which
should be useful, although it still needs to be integrated into the
FSF sources and EGCS.  He built an old version of Cygwin32 with VC++
because gcc wasn't in a good enough state yet and that's the version
that's on the ftp site you mentioned.  I believe gcc still needs more
work before it will be able to cope with building Cygwin32 (and
the current version of Cygwin32 will need some Alpha NT-specific stuff
added).

I would like to see Alpha NT support added to Cygwin32 (and to the
tools).  I would be glad to assist in integrating changes into the
tools or Cygwin32.
