I'm going to be doing some benchmarking between Cygwin32, UWIN,
OpenNT, and RedHat Linux (all on identical or extremely similar
machines).  I'm going to use EGCS for all of them.

I'll certainly do things like timing file I/O and process creation
with fork and/or spawn.  If anyone has any specific suggestions as to
other things I should test, I would like to hear them.
