I think FAQ-O-MATIC is a pretty good idea...for those who've never seen
a FAQ-O-MATIC, check out:

With this kind of thing set up, you don't need oodles of separate lists
-- we just all have to program "Please search the FAQ-O-MATIC and the
mailing list archives" into a macro in our favorite mail client...
