There are precompiled ports of Diffutils and Patch on SimTel.NET, in the 
v2gnu directory.  They are for Diffutils v2.7.1 and Patch v2.5.  The
ports include a source distribution with ready Makefile's, so if you 
absolutely must to compile the programs from the original sources, you 
can use those Makefiles and associated scripts for that.
