For some reason I have not been able to determine, I can only compile
C/C++ programs under Windows: under DOS, the system hangs.  However,
the resulting executable causes windows to hang, but runs fine under
DOS.  My best guess is some sort of configuration problem, but I don't
know how to chase it down, even after reading all the docs.
Can anybody set me on the right path?
