Subject:	Compression, encryption, protocol algorithms

Does any have any real good ideas about where to go about looking for 
code that will help me write a program that can write a file that has 
been compressed slightly and then encrypted with some form of wimpy 
encryption.

I am also looking for the code for Zmodem or some similar high speed 
protocol.
