Abstract: as: division by zero
as exits  due to signal SIGFPE (division bt zero) just after reporing error " Error: undefined symbol eax in operation", assembling line "mov XXXX, %(eax)" (Of course, the source is wrong).

This is not a DJGPP bug.  It should be reported to the Binutils maintainer.
