Bug 000102

When Created: 07/28/1996 22:25:41
Against DJGPP version: 2.00
By whom: jrubin@bix.com
Abstract: makefiles use unix commands
The makefiles for rebuilding the libraries use 'rm', 'cp' and 'mv'.

Note added: 07/29/1996 11:19:29

Indeed, they do.

The reason is that ms-dos is not realible (across different
versions, mind you) or does not supply the tools needed.
For example there is no equivalent for "mv" that we can use.
"Move" is not an option because it is not present in all the
versions of ms-dos we see.

The GNU fileutils package FIL3??B.ZIP provides DOS executables for many
Unix file commands, specifically rm, mv. Where a file command would not work in
DOS (eg. because DOS file system != Unix file system), they do nothing. This
package should be available from where you got DJGPP.

Upgrade to v2.02, its build procedure doesn't require anything besides
Make and Texinfo.
