Abstract: Makefile declares version=2.6.1 when the version is really 2.6.3
The makefile in gcc-263 sets version=2.6.1 (in fact it looks like configur.bat sets this up but the source code is really 2.6.3.

The Makefile is manually updated.  I missed that one,
but 2.7.0 has the right version number.
Closed on 07/24/1995 22:32:37: will be fixed in 2.7.0/2.7.1?
