Guess wave soldering is the manufacturing solution then prototypes are done, there are surface mounted components on other side but prefer thru hole for connectors, mechanical reasons. I have done schematics and layout of circuit boards for a little bit more than ten years but have at least one layer of management in between me and soldering machine. There I worked before I know where it was but had two layers of management in between me and soldering machine. Under these circumstances it is often a little bit hard to figure out which solutions might be best. No management then working for myself and figured out a solution that should be technically good and should make no difference for soldering except thru hole for connectors. I did not make thermal relief to get low resistance but may have to add to make it easier to solder, at least on electrolytic capacitors. For connectors press fit is also an option but not for the electrolytic I guess. Regards Nicklas Karlsson
