This morning I installed lepton-eda without the GEDADATA* setting and it seems to be working now. So, it looks like setting GEDADATA* was a problem. When I did try lepton-schematic's F-P to print my schematic, it crashed. That may be solved with the patch you supplied in an earlier posting to this thread. I do have a work-around to the printing problem - I created a script using gaf to do the printing. So, I am good to go for now. I am going to close this thread with SOLVED in the Subject. BTW: Another annoying thing I noticed about lepton-schematic is that the additional windows (i.e. status and page manager) do not honor window focus - they stay on top, which makes it difficult to work in the schematic editing main window without moving them aside. I do believe that gEDA 1.8 did honor window focus and the same windows went to the background when focus was changed to the main window. Fixing that could be an enhancement for a subsequent lepton release. Thanks for your help.
