JSON seems bloated for EDA format. Is it really necessary to allow such detail inside primitive shapes called rectangle, circle, path as having corners rounded, or a keep away zone for copper pours? Seems like that would be better to be only at the footprint level, so primitives could be more compact. Seems bloated for EDA format. Maybe having lots of features for quick reuses in other directions than EDA are what he likes, but it seems hard to get to the level pcb is already at for processing data on a good sized board. Maybe I worry too much about file format bloat. Maybe SVG processes quickly once it is in memory. For making design rules that are simple and direct, the centerline defined solid geometry way we already have probably scales up faster better.
