I haven't applied the patch to any of the versions of g77 I work on
yet (0.5.24 or egcs 1.1), so let me know what you find out about
the patch over the next couple of weeks.  Just don't know enough
to guess whether it's good to apply yet.  (Maybe worth risking
for egcs right now; lots of testing happens over there.  :)
