You are using free software, therefore you have no right to complain. Nobody is forcing you to use any of this software. You can very easily go out and purchase Watcom C++ and some other sound/graphics library and create inferior software, and then you can perhaps call some tech support number and get less than satisfactory support, but that is your decision. If you want help with anything you use for free then you should probably be a bit more reasonable. From my talks with Shawn, he'll answer your questions regardles of how you've treated what he's given the DJGPP world. Shawn deserves better than this, and thankfully a lot of people do recognize the heart and soul he puts into his work. Allegro is an excellent library that Shawn is continually enhancing and giving away. In my oppinion you owe him an apology and I hope you can shut off your frustration and perhaps apologize to him. That said, I'd like to show you one major flaw in your code which you must have missed while putting down Shawn's work: > load_sample("C:\DJGPP\SOUND001.WAV") and it shoulld CERTAINLY WORK in the Try: "load_sample("c:\\djgpp\\sound001.wav"); This is C, and in C a backslash '\' in immediate code like that is an escape character, therefore must be followed by a 2nd '\' to show that you really want a backslash. Good luck, I hope to see an apology. Scott P.S. I'm willing to bet that you haven't even bothered to send anything to Shawn Hargreaves, as the license clearly states. > .*.
