That is because, as mentioned, I told the installer not to create the desktop shortcut or the start menu option, as I already had them. So, the start menu currently points to the BAT file. If there is an example of what the desktop shortcut has for the properties, I can create one to see what mintty looks like. I've never used mintty under Solaris or Linux.
