IMOD runs under Linux, Windows, Mac OS X. Under Windows the installation of Cygwin is required. Parts of the IMOD package don't run properly even after several trails=20= =20 on my main PC (Windows XP Professional SP3 and Cygwin 1.7.1), but on=20=20 other PCs the package runs. This behaviour was reported in the IMOD newsgroup (obviously a script=20=20 will be generated but not executed ), but the root cause was not found. I've detected, that there are differences in Cygwins environment=20=20 variable on the diffeetn PCs. When I display the environment variables in the bash shell using $ set On the PCs with IMOD running correctly I found these entries !::=3D'::\' !C:=3D'C:\cygwin\bin' This is the path to Cygwin (PC: Windows XP Home SP3 at home): or !D:=3D'D:\cygwin\bin' This is the path to Cygwin !X:=3D'X:\' This is HOMEDRIVE of Windows (PC: Windows XP Professional SP3 in a domain) For the PC with the problems no entries like "!drive" are found (the=20=20 PC is in the same domain). So far, I've not found a description of "!drive". What does "!drive" mean and how can I insert such expressions in the=20=20 environment variable?
