The resulting file appears as a shell script (many of those have a .run suffix), and can be launched as is. The archive will then uncompress itself to a temporary directory and an optional arbitrary command will be executed (for example an installation script). Makeself archives also include checksums for integrity self-validation (CRC and/or MD5 checksums). Usage: makeself.sh [params] archive_dir file_name label [startup_script] [args] More info: makeself -h man makeself If you have questions or comments, please send them to the cygwin mailing list at: cygwin AT cygwin DOT com . To update your installation, click on the "Install Cygwin now" link on the http://cygwin.com/ web page. This downloads setup.exe to your system. Then, run setup and answer all of the questions. *** CYGWIN-ANNOUNCE UNSUBSCRIBE INFO *** If you want to unsubscribe from the cygwin-announce mailing list, look at the "List-Unsubscribe: " tag in the email header of this message.
