In the same spirit, i discovered that `cygcheck -s' does not behave correctly (ie is prematurely interrupted) if COMSPEC is not set to the appropriate value (C:\WINNT\system32\cmd.exe or equivalent), or is not set at all. This fact would perhaps deserve a short notice in some man page.
