It's time for you to try what Corinna suggested or, if you need more details about why a 1.7 built openssh won't work on a 1.5 system then just TRY IT. It isn't going to reformat your hard drive if you expend a tiny bit of time to look into this yourself. In the meantime, Corinna kindly suggested a way around your problem.
