Doing a little more debugging, and it looks like the issue is related directory size. I can execute 'ls | grep ' in a directory with 22 items with no issue at all. However, when I do a 'ls | grep ' in a directory that has 1,928 items, that's when I see the behaviour I'm experiencing. Is there some sort of limitation on listing size? I tried using 'rels' to see if it was a caching issue (as I understand it 'rels' doesn't cache), but I experienced the same behaviour.
