I've released bash_completion_lib-1.2.3 which is a fast alternative for
bash_completion.  Features are:
- loads 5 times as fast as original bash_completion
- on-demand loading of completions
- automated testing with DejaGnu

It's a fairly new package, but if you're willing to put it to the test, see
