Is it possible that Terminal Services gives you a temporary registry that it throws out upon exiting? Andy, FYI, the "/usr/bin:/bin:" is prepended to the PATH by the default /etc/profile, so bash may not be finding /etc (IOW, I concur on your mount guess).
