You don't give much information about what you did. I suggest starting with the documentation (inetutils-1.3.2.README) and making a quick check of relevant posts in the email archives. When I fire up telnet and try to connect to the other pc< I always get teh message "connection refused". cygwin is installed in windows xp home. What am I doing wrong?
