I'd be a little concerned about this unless they're doing something really funky. Mixing code expecting one calling convention with that expecting another is a recipe for disaster when running the result. That's why the function names look different in the library when using different calling conventions. The linker is meant to flag these mismatches. But if what you have works for you, more power to you. For anyone who doesn't have the Borland compiler to use as the linker in this case, my suggestions should work with the existing Cygwin tools, though I think it's fair to say that this thread was pretty light on details of the whole process so there may have been some invalid assumptions on my part w.r.t. what Nickolai was actually working with. Just linked my program using Borland compiler. Works fine :) Regards, Nickolai Bogdatov |---------+----------------------------> | | "lhall AT pop DOT ma DOT ult| | | ranet.com" >------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------| | | | To: cygwin AT cygwin DOT com | | cc: | | Subject: Re: [REALLY OT] RE: 1.3.12-2 how to link with MS Platform SDK | >------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------| OK, I'll kill this off-topic thread. Anyone praying wishing to pray in, for, with, or to the Hall can meet me Sunday morning. I'll be the one holding the collection plate. ;-) Larry (Divine) Hall Original Message: ----------------- From: Christopher Faylor cgf AT redhat DOT com Date: Thu, 10 Oct 2002 16:15:34 -0400 To: cygwin AT cygwin DOT com Subject: Re: [REALLY OT] RE: 1.3.12-2 how to link with MS Platform SDK On Thu, Oct 10, 2002 at 04:07:29PM -0400, Igor Pechtchanski wrote: >On Thu, 10 Oct 2002 nickolai DOT bogdatov AT verizon DOT com wrote: > >> Thanks, God. >> Somebody knows what I'm talking about ! >> [snip] >> >> > Larry > >I'm sure Larry would appreciate this new religious following :-D Oh great. Now the church will be packed. People will be praying in the hall. Or is that praying to the Hall? :-) cgf -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Bug reporting: http://cygwin.com/bugs.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/ -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ . -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Bug reporting: http://cygwin.com/bugs.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/ -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ . -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Bug reporting: http://cygwin.com/bugs.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/
