In a free software project, you shouldn't have to think in terms of "workarounds". Instead think "How do I fix the problem". The sources for scanf are available. They're in newlib/libc/stdio/scanf.c . If you think there is a problem, then the best way to address it is to investigate patching it and sending the patch to newlib AT sources DOT redhat DOT com. cgf -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Bug reporting: http://cygwin.com/bugs.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/
