The binary also includes perl/tk (perl5.00402-bindist04-bc.zip), which is great for cross platform click here type dialogs, although the same friend of mine swears by calling win dialog boxes using a different type of approach (he says it's fast and easy- I'm clueless). SOFTWARE
YeP-perl
At the moment, there are two widely used perl Win32 ports - ActiveState (ex-ActiveWare) and "standard", or "official", Win32 perl, by Gurusamy Sarathy. Both of the ports are developed with significant effort paid for rewriting UNIX system calls with Windows native calls. Can't consider it to be laziness.
Cygwin project provides a free UNIX-like kernel for Windows NT/95. We provide YeP-perl (v 5.004_04 patched and built for Win32) that will work on Win32. Compare our distribution with any ActiveWare or Standard Win32 perl distributions. We plan to provide more perl extensions in the spirit of Laziness.
Install Cygwin tools. Take latest version of Coolview. Install YeP-Perl Build 1 we have built for you.
YeP-Perl Build 0 is here. YeP-Perl Build 2 would be based on perl5.005 betas. If you want something to appear in Build 2 - write us. Build 1 was produced as a feedback to your letters - your feedback on Build 1 is realy welcome!

Feedback is sought and will be used. Want to point a UNIX perl extension that you would like to see ported on Windows? Have any other suggestion? Find a bug? Have a business proposal? - do tell.
