Download and use the beta 19 toolset when it becomes available later
this week.  Beta 18 provided Sun's compiled libraries.  Beta 19
includes the latest versions of tcl, tk, itcl, and tix, all compiled
with gcc and linked with Cygwin32.

Things ought to go much smoother if you do.
