From: john DOT cook AT kla-tencor DOT com (John Cook) Subject: RE: cp -p now works 10 Nov 1997 20:22:14 -0800 Message-ID: Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit To: "'gnu-win32 AT cygnus DOT com'" I mentioned last week on the list that 'cp -p' appears to require NTFS for its destination file. Again I pose the question: Is there a good reason why 'cp -p' can't work under FAT filesystems as well? After all, 'cp -p' is the default behavior for all of the DOS and Windows file copy operations. --John >---------- >From: kh AT wg DOT icl DOT co DOT uk[SMTP:kh AT wg DOT icl DOT co DOT uk] > >I changed the disc format to NTFS (quick convert) and Hey Presto it works.
