i don't think so, coz everything else seems to be working fine.

1. i can execute vi in cygwin and in command prompt.
2. i've re-installed the whole cygwin three times.

still i have this problem:

  cvs commit: Examining .
cvs commit: cannot exec vi: No such file or directory
cvs commit: warning: editor session failed

Log message unchanged or not specified
a)bort, c)ontinue, e)dit, !)reuse this message unchanged for remaining
dirs
  Action: (continue)

it only happens when i try to do a 'cvs commit'. all other functions of cvs
are working properly.
has anyone tried updating cygwin and got 'cvs commit' to work?
pls help!

Regards,
James

can anyone help me? i've recently updated cygwin, and now my cvs doesn't
    work anymore.

cvs commit: cannot exec vi: No such file or directory

My guess is that you're being bit by the same `libncurses5' problem
that has bit so many other Cygwin users. Info is at
