Subject: problem with long filenames in cygwin packages in setup.exe
Cc: ganong@darwin.UCSC.EDU

i have been experimenting with making my own packages, and
using the setup.exe from the cygwin web page. when my package's tar
file has a file in it with a pathname longer than 100 characters,
i get error messages. These error messages come from setup/tar.cc
and setup/mkdir.cc. I know since 100 characters is the limit of
old fashioned filenames in tar (pre-gnu long filenames) i am guessing
there is something wrong with setup's tar functions.

i tried to build the winsup from cvs to see i could fix this myself
but the setup.exe that i built crashes just after putting up a dialog
box that begins with "downloading".

thanks
