To: cygwin@cygwin.com MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Hi, I just tried to build the gcc-2.95.2-6 that comes along with Cygwin. I have installed Cygwin at C:\cygwin and created 3 directories c:\src c:\obj and c:\install in order to build gcc as suggested in the FAQ. The build and configure steps were successful but while installing, i.e using the command make install, the install.log file contained the following error, case "c proto gcov.exe c++ f77 objc" in \ *[fF]77*) touch ../install/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-cygwin32/2.95.2-6/lang-f77;; \ *) rm -f ../install/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-cygwin32/2.95.2-6/lang-f77;; \ esac touch: ../install/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-cygwin32/2.95.2-6/lang-f77: No such file or directory make[1]: *** [f77.install-common] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/cygdrive/c/obj/gcc' make: *** [install-gcc] Error 2 What could be the probable reason of this error. I could not find any answer to this in the archives. Kindly help....... Thanking u in anticipation, Chetan M.
