Yes.  Bascially you are on your own.  NutCracker(NC), so does UWIN,
lacks the GNU tools support.  That means most of the source codes
can be compiled with less efforts with Cygwin.

Also the X Windows system support is same in NC, you need their X-server
to run the applications.  You also need to their versions of
X11 and MOTIF to port.  In Cygwin you have access to all these tools
(X11) with much less restrictions.
