If it can help, in tcsh hitting "Ctrl-V" followed by an arrow key gives:
 Up    - ^]
 Down  - ^_
 Left  - ^\
 Right - ^^

As to bash (if it makes any sence there) hitting "Ctrl-V" followed by anyone
of arrow keys and then by another key gives "\340".

BTW, what does "Ctrl-V" do ????
