Or, you can take the libg2c.a from mingw32/egcs distribution and link with that conjunction with the -mno-cygwin flag. The -mon-cygwin flag has one *BIG* pitfall that everybody seems to be overlooking -- the target libraries are build for i386-cygwin32, NOT i386-mingw32. That includes libg2c (there is no libf2c with g77 btw), libstdc++, libiberty, and so son.
