I am using the standard getopt function on a program that I compile
either with linux (egcs-1.1) or with gnu-win32 (egcs-1.1) both on
i686-pc.

The gnu-win32 function appears to not work.   

 int c;
  while ((c = getopt (argc, argv, "cn:e:b:s:p:")) != EOF) {
    clog << c << '\n';


produces no output.  Is this getopt broken?
